Clarification of different issues by DRD/Academic Section, BISE Peshawar
Question If a student wants migration in 10th class from BSE Karachi to BISE Peshawar. In such a situation 2 issues arise.
- He has read Sindhi subject instead of Urdu as Compulsory subject
- There are no practical in science subjects in 9th class at BSE Karachi. Please guide us in this matter.
Reply/ Suggestion The candidates seeking migration from any BISE of Sindh Province, where Sindhi subject is compulsory in class 9th may be allowed to KPK Boards to offer Urdu (Compulsory) in 10th class. The Sindhi paper already qualified in 9th class may be considered equivalent to marks in Urdu paper in 10th Class. Hence marks in Sindhi in 9th class will be carried forward in 10th Class.
Both the 9th, 10th Practical may be taken in 10th class together. However, the head of institution as well as the conduct section of the Board will be bound to inform the students about it i.e. to appear in the practical of 9th will be taken with the 10th Practical in class 10th. (Board Calendar page 220 para 3)Question If a student wants migration from any BISE of Pakistan & AJK and he has failed in one subject, in such a situation, is he eligible to appear in one subject from BISE Peshawar? Reply/ Suggestion A candidate who moves from the jurisdiction of one Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education that holds SSC exam in two parts into the jurisdiction of the Board after having qualified in Part-I of the examination from the former Board may be granted exemption from appearing in the subjects/papers in which he/she has qualified in Part-I of the said exam and permitted to appear in the subject papers in which he/she has yet to qualify, provided he/she has passed part-I of the said exam not earlier than two academic years, such a candidate shall for all other purposes be governed by the rules and regulation of the Board. (IBCC decision page 95 Lahore board calendar para19)
A candidate who transfers from one board to another and in the former board there is separate exam for Part-I and Part-II. If he/she has passed Part-I from former board. He may be granted exemption for Part-I. He may also be permitted to appear in papers, from the new board, he failed in the former board in Part-I.
But with conditions that he has passed/appeared in Part-I, not earlier than two academic years that is four exams.
Further more the verified DMC of the former Board must be consulted whether he has been shown as re-appear or fresh candidate. In case of fresh candidate he/she will have to re-appear in all subjects though he/she was failed in subject/paper.Question If a candidate wants migration from an other board to BISE Peshawar in capacity of a private students, following questions arises:
Can he/she be allowed for examination on provision of domicile/C.N.I.C (computerized National Identity Card) or Service Certificate of parents or guardian?Reply/ Suggestion Yes! If a candidate who wants to appear in examination from BISE Peshawar must be a resident of the area, under the jurisdiction of BISE Peshawar. Hence domicile/C.N.I.C or service certificate of his/her parents or guardian would be required to ensure his/her residence in the jurisdiction of BISE Peshawar as noted in the Calendar on page-92, para IV. Question Is General Science a compulsory subject or optional subject in 9th and 10th class? Can a student take Civics or History instead of General Science? Guide us in this matter. Reply/ Suggestion According to the SSC scheme of studies 2006-2007 General Science subject has been shifted to Social Science (Elective) subjects but it will be implemented subject to availability of Book by KP Text Book Board, probably in 2015 until then status quo will and status quo continue. In case of approval a candidate can offer three elective subjects, instead of two elective subjects from the seven sub-group.
Question Explain in detail A Level and O Level Categories. Reply/ Suggestion General Certificate of Education Ordinary (GCEO) level is equivalent to SSC Examination in Pakistan. Students of O-Level reading in Pakistani institutions will have to pass all the eight subjects and in institutions abroad will have to pass in Five subjects.
